Book NowCome and join us for Christmas at the fabulous Newby Bridge Hotel with views over Lake Windermere at the tranquil southern end of the Lake. The hotels chef will be offering the best local and seasonal food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and are looking forward to spoiling you all this Christmas. We have included excursions to the Lake District visiting charming towns such as Bowness, Grasmere and Kendal.
Day 1
We depart home area and visit the medieval city of Lichfield for our lunch stop. There are many delightful shops to browse and easteries to choose from. We continue to our hotel where we will be greeted with a cup of tea/coffee whilst our cases are taken to our bedrooms. Time to freshen up or enjoy a drink in the lounge area before our evening meal.
DDay 2
Christmas Eve This morning we take a ride alongside Lake Windermere and stop in the pretty town of Bowness-on- Windermere, the largest town in the Lake District National Park. This dynamic town boasts hundreds of shops, eating and drinking establishments and many fine cultural and historical attractions. The views from Bowness out across the lake and up to the mountains are some of the finest in the Lake District. Opportunity to visit The World of Beatrix Potter or enjoy a boat trip on the lake (extra cost). We then continue through the Lake District National Park to the delightful village of Grasmere, where William Wordsworth lived and attended school. There are many charming shops including the famous Gingerbread shop. We return to our hotel for a glass of mulled wine and mince pie. Time to relax before our 3-course evening meal. Afterwards we are invited to the lounge for a variety of traditional parlour games.
B, DDay 3
Christmas Day We enjoy our breakfast with a glass of buck’s fizz. If we've been good, there might be a present for us! Time to relax or make use of the leisure facilities or opportunity to visit the local church service before our 4-course Christmas Day lunch with all the trimmings! Opportunity to watch the King’s speech in the lounge area with tea/coffee and mince pies. Tonight, there will be a Christmas evening buffet to enjoy.
B, L, DDay 4
Boxing Day This morning after breakfast, we go for a scenic ride to the ‘Auld Grey Town', Kendal, known for being a pleasant market town in Cumbria, also famous for Kendal Mint Cake. The ruins of Kendal Castle overlook the town. There are numerous historical buildings and many shops for the Boxing Day Sales. Opportunity to purchase lunch here before returning to our hotel for tea and Christmas Cake. Time to relax before your evening meal followed by a Boxing Day Quiz.
B, DDay 5
After breakfast we return to home area stopping enroute at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire for lunch to be obtained.

NEWBY BRIDGE HOTEL, ULVERTSON ***
This historic 18th century hotel overlooks the river Levern and offers wonderful views across the southern shores of Lake Windermere and is located around 5-minute walk from Finsthwaite Heights. What better way to unwind after enjoying a day out is to relax in the hotels indoor swimming pool, steam room or spa bath. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities with bath and shower, a hospitality tray, TV, radio, direct dial telephone and hairdryer. You can also upgrade your bedroom (subject to availability). The Garden view restaurant overlooks the Mediterranean gardens. The hotel also has a bar lounge area in which to relax and enjoy a drink or two!
Please note: There are no bedrooms with walk in showers.
