To County Durham via the historic market town of Newark-on-Trent.

Day 2

Explore the award-winning Beamish Open Air Museum, a living history experience showcasing life in North East England from the 1820s to the 1940s. Wander through recreated streets, historic homes, shops, and workshops, costumed characters, traditional crafts, and vintage vehicles.

Spend a leisurely day in Durham. Visit the magnificent Durham Cathedral, stroll along the River Wear, browse the indoor market, and explore the city’s independent shops and cafés.

Today we head to the famous Metrocentre for some shopping bargains, before continuing to Newcastle. Explore the fascinating Discovery Museum and the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
