Torquay on the English Riviera

Day 1

Travel to Salisbury for lunch to be purchased before arriving at our hotel.

Day 2

2024 - After breakfast we visit the nearby Paignton, a delightful traditional seaside town nestles on the western shores of Tor Bay. The town has lovely shops and restaurants/cafés to obtain morning refreshments. Afterwards we continue to the quaint fishing village of Brixham. The town has a great range of charming shops to browse. This afternoon we visit Babbacombe. Take a walk along the promenade, down to Oddicombe Beach or visit the Babbacombe Model Village, or the Bygones attraction (entries extra).

2025 - Today we visit the small, bustling fishing town of Brixham. Take a walk around the harbour and little independent shops before rejoining the coach to the beautiful town of Dartmouth, one of
Devon’s most popular and enchanting towns. We then return to the hotel for our evening meal and our evening entertainment.

Day 3

2024 - Enjoy the day at leisure in Torquay. Opportunity to use the hotel leisure facilities or visit the town and harbour.There is a Land Train you can catch from outside the hotel which takes you around Torquay (extra cost).

2025 - This morning we visit the historic market town of Newton Abbot. Today is market day, so opportunity to browse the many stalls in Market Square. Take a look round the large range of shops and purchase lunch before heading to Babbacombe, take a walk along the promenade, on a clear day you can see across to Sidmouth. Walk along the high street with small local independent shops. Opportunity to visit Bygones, a heritage family attraction packed with over 100 years of British history (Entry extra), or visit Babbacombe’s model village, where we can explore 4 acres of award-winning gardens showcasing hundreds of uniquely hand-crafted model scenes, vehicles and people (Entry extra). Tonight opportunity to see a show at the nearby Babbacombe Theatre (extra cost).

Day 4

2024 - This morning we visit Buckfast Abbey, an attractive Benedictine Monastery nestled in a valley on the edge of Dartmoor. Experience the serenity and beauty of the Abbey. Opportunity to purchase morning refreshments from the Grange Restaurant before we depart for Widecombe in the Moor, a quiet village surrounded by moorland with links that date back to medieval times.

2025 - Enjoy a day at leisure in Torquay. Opportunity to use the hotel’s leisure facilities or book a massage (extra cost) or visit Torquay town and harbour. There is a land train that stops outside the hotel which goes into Torquay (extra cost).

Day 5

2024 - We return to home area stopping in Shaftesbury, famous for the Hovis Advert on Gold Hill.

2025 - We return to home area making suitable comfort stops along the way.
