Snowdrops Short Break

Flowering between January and March, snowdrops are one of the first signs of life in gardens after the long winter months. These delicate little blooms can brighten up even the gloomiest of days, so why not join us on this short break where you will be spoilt with an elegant hotel and some beautiful scenery. Painswick Rococo Gardens and Colesbourne Park will be your holiday highlights.

Day 1

Depart home area and travel to Gloucester stopping in Witney, a lovely market town in the Cotswolds. Time here to purchase lunch before continuing to our hotel where we have a cup of tea/coffee upon arrival. Time to freshen up for our evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast, this morning we enjoy a visit to Painswick Rococo Gardens, set in a hidden valley in the Cotswolds. The Rococo Garden has one of the largest naturalistic plantings of snowdrops in the country. Afterwards we visit the charming village of Stow-on-the-Wold, a pretty Cotswold town just waiting to be discovered. Time here to purchase lunch with free time before returning to our hotel.

Day 3

We depart for home area stopping enroute at Colesbourne Park, the premier place to see snowdrops in bloom. The collection is probably the most varied of any garden on display, with over 300 varieties of this spectacular harbinger of spring on show. Over 10 acres of private gardens and woodland walks with a mix of snowdrops, hellebores, cyclamen and a wide variety of early flowering shrubs await you. Afterwards we visit Cirencester, known as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. Cirencester is renowned for its very special shops, individual boutiques, fascinating antique emporiums, and craft shops as well as national chain stores. Time to purchase lunch and look around the shops before returning to home area.
