Cross the sands to Holy Island and explore a different world. Cruise past the Farne Islands, home to seals and seabirds. Discover Northumberland’s dramatic coast, dotted with castles like Alnwick.

Day 1

We travel north with suitable comfort stops along the way, arriving at our welcoming hotel in time to relax before dinner.

Day 2

Step into the magic of Alnwick Castle & Gardens, famed as ‘Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter films. Explore the magnificent state rooms, the fascinating Poison Garden, and the spectacular water cascade with opportunity to purchase lunch in one of the charming cafés.

Enjoy a visit to the coastal village of Seahouses and a boat trip to view the Grey Seals of the Farne Islands*, before crossing to the serene Holy Island of Lindisfarne, steeped in history and accessible only at low tide.

Explore Cragside House & Gardens, the remarkable Victorian home powered by hydroelectricity, surrounded by woodland walks, rock gardens and tranquil lakeside views.

We begin our homeward journey, pausing at Boundary Mills, Grantham for lunch and shopping before returning home.

THE LITTLE HAVEN HOTEL, SOUTH SHEILDS ***

Uniquely situated at the gateway of the River Tyne, the Little Haven Hotel boasts extensive views. Enjoy a varied wining and dining experience in the beautiful conservatory style restaurant.
