New Year Festivities on the Rhine River Cruise

Enjoy a relaxing and entertaining romantic Rhine river cruise on board MS Gerard Schmitter for a memorable New Year’s Eve! Discover not only the legend of the famous Lorelei Rock, but also Rüdesheim, Koblenz and Heidelberg. It is not just the cruise ship that will be flowing along the Rhine but the drinks and food onboard our ship as well. The crew are waiting to welcome us onboard for this special New Year holiday.

Day 1

UK TO STRASBOURG
We depart home area and travel to Europe via Eurotunnel, arriving in Strasbourg early evening. We board our ship and have time to freshen up before our welcome cocktail reception where we are introduced to our Captain and our Chef who will inform us what delights are on our menu for tonight. Afterwards enjoy some music after dinner whilst our ship sails for Koblenz.

Day 2

KOBLENZ
We’ll cruise through the most romantic areas of the Rhine River today. We arrive in Koblenz, situated at the Deutches Eck, where the Rhine meets the Moselle and discover this wonderful city. Take a walk along the quaint lanes and atmospheric squares filled with beautiful old buildings. There are many shops to browse. Tonight will be our Gala Dinner followed by entertainment.

Day 3

KOBLENZ TO RUDESHEIM
Today we cruise to Rüdesheim and marvel at some of the Rhine Valley’s most famous landmarks including the 130m high Lorelei Rock, named after the famous Rhine siren, the legend of whom is as old as time itself. In Rüdesheim we visit the Siegfried Mechanical Music Museum, there are approximately 350 exhibits of mechanical instruments dating from the 18th to 20th century to look at. Take a walk down the famous Drösselgasse and pop into one of the many delightful shops. Tonight, we enjoy an included traditional evening in a riverside restaurant.

Day 4

RÜDESHEIM TO MANNHEIM - NEW YEAR’S EVE
Today we cruise towards Mannheim. Join us on an excursion to Heidelberg, situated in the Neckar valley. This town is the mecca of German romanticism. Browse the many beautiful shops and sample one of the Beer houses. Karen will show you the best places to visit. We return to our ship for our New Year’s Eve dinner and enjoy a full programme of evening entertainment. During the night we cruise to Strasbourg.

Day 5

MANNHEIM TO STRASBOURG TO METZ
We enjoy one last late buffet breakfast and lunch on board before we disembark at 3pm and bid farewell to our Captain and crew. We travel to our nearby overnight hotel in Metz. Time to freshen up and enjoy a drink in the bar before our evening meal.

METZ TO UK
After breakfast we depart for home area making suitable comfort stops on route.

This fantastic 3 deck ship is one of Croisi Europe’s premium fleet. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy the picturesque panoramas of the Rhine. Each of the cabins are spacious and comfortable and similar in size offering panoramic views. Cabins on the Upper Deck feature French Balconies, with those on the Middle Deck and Main Deck have fixed windows. All are equipped with satellite television, radio, hairdryer and safe. There is a lift on board this ship and a varied range of entertainment including quizzes, games, music and dancing are held in the bar & lounge area which also enjoys panoramic views. Located on the middle deck, also with panoramic views is the restaurant where meals are served during our cruise. There is also a sundeck with comfortable sun loungers, the ideal place to relax and admire the many castles we will pass along the Rhine.
