Book NowThe largest of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca has much to offer beyond the beach, yet it maintains an air of familiarity from family holidays of years gone by. The capital, Palma de Mallorca’s historic quarter with its 13th century cathedral, the Almudaina Palace, the Lonja fish market and Plaza Mayor are all highlights on this holiday, the biggest highlight being our tour on the Orange Express over the mountains to Soller on the vintage narrow gauge railway built in 1912.
Day 1
We depart home area and travel by coach to Gatwick Airport for our flight to Mallorca (flight time approx. 2hrs 20 mins). Karen will be with us to ensure we are all checked in before going through security. Upon arrival at Mallorca's Airport, we will all meet again in luggage reclaim and then board our coach to transfer us to our hotel. Upon arrival at our hotel enjoy a glass of Sangria or Cava.
DDay 2
After breakfast, we join our coach to Palma, the major city and seaport located in the southwest of Mallorca. A former Moorish casbah, or walled city, Palma's Old Town is an appealing maze of narrow streets that are a delight to explore on foot. We enjoy a half day guided walking tour discovering this wonderful city with an included visit to the must-see beautiful piece of architecture, Cathedral de Mallorca before returning to our hotel for a relaxing afternoon.
B, DDay 3
Day at leisure. Enjoy the attractive beach resort located 60 metres from the beach. We can treat ourselves to a spa treatment (extra cost) at the hotel or make use of the indoor/outdoor swimming pool. There is a bus stop outside the hotel with buses linking us to many places of interest around the island. Alternatively join Karen on an excursion to the Caves of Drach with boat trip and Music concert. We are picked up by coach from our hotel to explore the Caves of Drach with live classic music from floating musicians while we explore the caves. Enjoy a rowboat ride (we do not do the rowing) across Lake Martel and a stop at a Mallorca pearl factory, this half day tour features the caves' magnificent highlights, from turquoise-coloured water to soaring rock formations. A local tourist guide will be escorting us throughout the tour giving us a full commentary of the areas we visit. £55 extra per person. Limited number of places available. Our coach will return us to our hotel afterwards.
B, DDay 4
After breakfast, we join our coach to nearby Palma for the best excursion in Mallorca, we enjoy an hour ride on the Orange Express. We will travel back in time with our wooden train inaugurated in 1912 and enjoy the breath-taking scenery of the Sierra Norte de Mallorca. From the inland to the majestic mountains, natural landscaped and fantastic beaches we will arrive in the small town of Sóller surrounded by mountains. We have free time here to stroll along the streets and squares before rejoining our coach to return us to our hotel.
B, DDay 5
Day at leisure. If you would like to join Karen to Palma this morning to visit the market held every morning. The Santa Catalina market is one of the oldest and biggest in Palma is held every morning until 2pm. Karen will arrange taxis for all those who would like to join her.
B, DDay 6
Today we join Karen and our coach for a full day step-on guide and a walking tour of the historical town of Alcudia, considered as one of the most beautiful in Mallorca. This fortified town has a variety of restaurants and shops. Afterwards we enjoy a boat trip on the Mediterranean Sea from Port of Pollensa to Formentor Beach before returning to our hotel.
B, DDay 7
After breakfast our coach will pick us up from our hotel to take us to Mallorca Airport for our return flight home to Gatwick where our coach will be waiting to take us home.

This fabulous 4 star hotel is located 60 metres from the beach and close to the city of Palma. The hotel has an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, restaurant, free Wi-Fi, Spa and wellness centre, 24hr front desk, bar and provides some evening entertainment. There is a regular bus into the centre of the city where you can go shopping and browse the many bars and restaurants. All bedrooms are ensuite with LCD Satellite TV, a telephone with a direct line to the outside, a mini bar, a hire safe, air conditioning and a terrace.
