Crossing the channel and travel through champagne country, stopping enroute for lunch. We arrive at our overnight hotel in Troyes. Time to freshen up before our evening meal.
Day 2
Troyes to Lyon
After breakfast, we visit Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, surrounded by magnificent medieval ramparts. Enjoy time to explore the many individual shops and places to eat before continuing to Lyon, where we board our ship. After settling into our cabins, we are introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail reception. Enjoy a relaxing dinner on board, then take a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais to soak in the beautiful views of the city and the Rhône River, or enjoy evening entertainment on board.
Day 3
Tournon / Tain l’Hermitage
After breakfast, board a charming miniature train for a ride through the beautiful vineyards of Tain l’Hermitage, where you’ll enjoy glorious views across the Rhône Valley and the small towns of Tain l’Hermitage and Tournon. At the top of the hill, sample five different wines from this well-known growing region. The train will then return you to the ship for lunch, and the rest of the day can be spent enjoying the scenery as we sail.
Day 4
Avignon
Avignon, the "City of Popes," is a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Famous for its stunning Gothic architecture, the majestic Palace of the Popes stands as a testament to its medieval grandeur. Whether you're a history enthusiast, art lover, or simply seeking relaxation, Avignon offers something for everyone. A visit here is like stepping into a living storybook.
Day 5

Steeped in Roman history, it boasts impressive ruins including the ancient Amphitheatre and Roman Theatre. Arles is also famed for inspiring Van Gogh - follow in his footsteps through the vibrant streets and cafés he once painted. With its picturesque medieval lanes, bustling markets, and rich culture, Arles is a true gem of Provence.
Day 6
Arles to Viviers
Today we discover the medieval town of Viviers on a guided tour, taking in its narrow streets, historic buildings, and magnificent river views. Visit a local olive oil mill to learn about the production process, followed by a tasting session. Spend the afternoon cruising through the beautiful French countryside, passing Valence with its cathedral, and Montélimar, famous for its nougat.
