Gardens, Beaches & Shires, Norfolk

Day 1

We depart home area and visit Bury St. Edmunds. Time to explore and obtain lunch before we continue to our hotel. On arrival we are greeted with a cup of tea/coffee.

Day 2

This morning , we visit Hoveton Hall Gardens which provide a rich and varied experience for visitors, a cherished destination in the Norfolk region. There is a delightful cafe offering refreshments, and traditional cream teas, a relaxing spot to enjoy the garden views. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk’s premier coastal town, home to 15 miles of golden, sandy beaches. There are many attractions at this resort including the Merrivale Model Village Railway and Gardens and Time and Tide Museum (entries are extra).

Day 3

We start our day at Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary where we will meet the gentle giant Shire horses before visiting Cromer, a charming coastal town set against the backdrop of dramatic cliffs that provide breath-taking views over the North Sea and is renowned for its historic pier, sandy beaches, shops, marine life and of course the Cromer crab! Time here to purchase lunch and to enjoy a lovely afternoon here before returning to our hotel.

Day 4

After breakfast we head to Norwich, with its stunning Norman Cathedral and Castle, superb independent and well-known high street shops, quaint covered market, eateries and heritage, plenty of opportunities to obtain lunch before we re-join our coach and continue to Wroxham, a small village on the River Bure in the Norfolk Broads. Opportunity to take a boat trip on the broads (extra cost) or browse the shops.

Day 5

After breakfast we depart our hotel and visit Southwold, a delightful and charming coastal resort. Today is market day*, opportunity to look around the stalls, visit many of the individual shops and purchase lunch in one of the many tea rooms, cafés or restaurants.
