DDay 2
This morning we head to Stratford upon Avon for an entertaining tour of Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall. Immerse ourselves in the sixteenth century and explore the very room where William Shakespeare sat in the 1570's and where he wrote his first works. We will experience Tudor school life with William Shakespeare's teacher, Master Thomas Jenkins. Beware!! Marvel at the 600 year old mediaeval wall paintings and learn to write with quill and ink. Afterwards we enjoy free time in this mediaeval town with opportunity to visit many shops and restaurants nearby. We return to our hotel with free time to make use of the hotel's leisure facilities before our evening meal.
B, DDay 3
This morning, after breakfast, we head to Coventry Transport Museum (all under one roof) which houses the largest publicly owned collection of British vehicles on the planet and tells the story of a city that changed the world through transport. You can expect captivating displays, interactive galleries and highly immersive exhibitions. There are 14 fully accessible galleries which are home to the fastest vehicle in the world, pioneering bicycles, transport champions and many of the most innovative, memorable and luxurious vehicles of the last 200 years. There is an award-winning coffee shop on site and an exceptional gift shop. It all makes a fantastic day out. Coventry town centre is nearby for those who want to wander to the shops. However, there is so much to see and do at the Transport Museum there is no need to venture outdoors. We return to our hotel for our evening meal.
B, DDay 4
Today we visit Warwick Castle, where we experience a thousand years of jaw-dropping history. Great Battles, ancient myths, spellbinding tales and pampered princesses. Visit the exhibition 'The Kingmaker'. This walk through experience will take you on a fascinating journey through preparations for battle in mediaeval England. Discover the castle's magnificent Great Hall and resplendent State Rooms. Ever wondered what Victorian high society would be like? Join the Countess of Warwick and her esteemed guests for a lavish weekender party. This walk through experience, through the series of original rooms within the main castle building, brings back to life the excitement, secrets and scandal. Take a walk in the Peacock Garden and marvel at the view at the top of Guy's Tower (weather permitting). There is a café onsite which offers a range of hot and cold snacks and is a perfect pit stop during your day. Return to our hotel for our evening meal.
