Day 2

Enjoy a free morning in Exmouth, situated at the mouth of the beautiful Exe estuary and at the very beginning of the Jurassic Coast. It is one of the most picturesque holiday resorts on the south coast. Surrounded by the beautiful Devon countryside, Exmouth is a bustling little town with a vibrant shopping centre and a range of excellent restaurants. This afternoon we travel along the Jurassic coastline and visit the charming town of Sidmouth, famous for its red sandy beaches, independent shops, and art galleries. On our return to our hotel, we visit the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth where there are hundreds of donkeys waiting to meet us.

Day 3

Visit the delightful regency coastal town of Dawlish, huddled attractively between steep surrounding hills. Take a stroll along the Strand enjoying a range of shops. It was here that Jane Austen stayed, as did Charles Dickens (who decided to make Dawlish the birthplace of Nicholas Nickleby). The town centre is home to the famous black swans, which we may find around Dawlish Water (also known as The Brook) and the public green called The Lawn. Afterwards, re-join the coach to visit the House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey, a working glass and games factory set in a historic pottery. They are makers and purveyors of a world-famous range of glass marbles, board games, classic toys, pastimes and decorative accessories for the home and garden. They have been designing, making, and selling fun and entertaining products since 1973. Opportunity to purchase afternoon tea before returning to our hotel

At lunchtime we make our way to the cathedral, one of the oldest and most beautiful in England. Purchase lunch in the café and afterwards enjoy a tour of the cathedral to learn about its history and the entertaining stories of the people who lived and worshipped here.
