Croatia & the Adriatic by Air

Discover the very best that Croatia has to offer, from hidden coves along its breathtaking shoreline to charming hilltop villages. These are just a few reasons to love Croatia, however the exact moment you’ll fall head over heels may a little harder to quantify. Maybe it will be the day you spend wandering the knotted maze of streets in a medieval town and chancing on a ramshackle little bar, where the locals welcome you. Or the long, lazy day you went along the Istrian coast to explore Pula and Rovinj or looking put onto the Adriatic turquoise coloured ocean.

Day 1

We depart home area and head to Gatwick Airport where our Tour Manager will help us check in and go through security before our EasyJet flight to Pula Airport which will take approx. 2 hours. Upon our arrival at Pula Airport we will be transferred to our hotel, Hotel Marina by coach. Time to relax, unpack and enjoy our three-course evening buffet evening meal with a beverage.

Day 2

Enjoy a relaxing day by the pools or on the beach located 150 metres from our hotel. The hotel also has a Wellness Centre where there is opportunity to have a massage or use the Solarium (extra charges). There are many eateries nearby to obtain lunch and drinks.

Day 3

Today, enjoy a tour to the ‘Golden Island’ of Krk which lies in Kvarner Bay, just off the coast of Rijeka. We will drive across the island and spend the morning exploring its picturesque villages and beautiful beaches. Along the way, admire historic landmarks like Krk cathedral and Frankopan Castle, walk the scenic seafront promenades, and tuck into a delicious lunch (extra) of Krk cuisine and wine.

Day 4

Today we enjoy a panoramic Istrian Coast tour visiting Pula and Rovinj. Our guide and driver will pick us up from our hotel and head to Pula situated near the base of the Istrian peninsula. Pula is the largest city in Istria where we visit the famous well preserved Roman Amphitheatre. Pula has a long tradition of wine making, fishing and shipbuilding. The coast is dotted with fragrant pine groves, seaside cafes and a clutch of good restaurants. We then travel to Rovinj on the west coast of Istria, one of the most popular tourist resorts in Croatia. The old town is built on an island, which was only connected with the mainland in the 18th century. Known as the most picturesque and romantic town on the Mediterranean, Rovinj attracts many tourists. Walk around the old town’s cobbled narrow streets. There are 22 islands and islets, carefully designed parks, friendly locals and an attractive fishing port, art galleries and studios and shops which will allure us.

Day 5

Today, join us on an optional excursion to visit the fantastic underground world of the Postojna cave and the glorious Predjama castle. (£109 per person extra, to be made at time of booking. Limited places available). Our coach takes us on a two-hour drive into Slovenia all the way across the border to the city of Postojna. The cave tour is made up of a 20-minute open train ride through the cave system followed by a one-hour walking tour through the cave. The path through the cave is level and covered with a non-slippery surface. The tour of the cave lasts 1 and a half hours. Time to visit the restroom and to do some souvenir shopping before visiting Predjama castle, the largest cave castle in the world.

Day 6

After breakfast, coach transfer to Pula Airport for our return flight to Gatwick, return to home area by coach.
