Day 2

After breakfast we head to St. Ives, known as the ‘dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown’. We depart our coach at the top of St.Ives where we take the shuttle bus (extra cost, approx. £3 return) to Royal Square. From here we explore the picturesque bustle of whitewashed fisherman’s cottages, art galleries, independent shops, bars and restaurants. Narrow cobbled streets maze out towards St. Ives’ award-winning beaches. Opportunity to purchase lunch here before our afternoon visit to Penzance, located on the southwestern tip of Cornwall. The harbour is the heart of the town, where we can enjoy a leisurely stroll, watch the boats, and experience the maritime atmosphere. The area is lined with cafes, shops, and historic buildings.

Day 3

We begin our day in Truro, Cornwall’s county town and only city, today is market day*. Take the opportunity to visit the magnificent gothic cathedral, which is one of only four cathedrals in the UK with three spires and took 30 years to build. Time to explore the shops and perhaps enjoy a delicious Cornish pasty (a true Cornish pasty should have 20 pleats). In the afternoon we visit the delightful seaside village of Perranporth, famous for its expansive sandy beach and stunning coastal views. The High Street features a variety of shops, boutiques, and traditional pubs. Opportunity to try the famous Cornish cider ‘Scrumpy’. (Not too much though!) Winston Graham, the English novelist, who wrote the Poldark series lived in a bungalow in the dunes over Perranporth beach. We return to our hotel for our evening meal.

Day 4

Today we visit Falmouth, one of Britain’s best coastal towns, based around a thriving harbour, the gateway to the beautiful Fal River which runs through Cornwall’s National Landscape. The town is a foodie paradise with many traditional pubs, seafood restaurants and tea rooms to choose from to obtain lunch. There are plenty of independent shops and art galleries to browse. Opportunity to take a boat cruise around Falmouth harbour and Fal River (extra cost). On our way back to our hotel we make a short visit at Cornish Gold for a unique Cornish experience. There are a variety of exhibits and displays showcasing the history of gold mining and the transformation of raw gold into exquisite jewellery. We can observe skilled artisans at work, creating beautiful pieces of jewellery using traditional techniques. See how tin was extracted and refined using historic techniques in Tolgus Mill. Enjoy refreshments at the on-site café and browse through the shop for gifts, souvenirs, and local products. Tonight, after dinner, enjoy a night of evening entertainment.
