Christmas in Barnstaple, North Devon

New for 2024!

We’ve unwrapped the most joyous entertainment programme and paired it with a Christmas Eve banquet, a three course Christmas day feast and tied it together with warmly welcoming accommodation and staff at the Barnstaple Hotel. The hotel has a reputation for fabulous cuisine, comfortable accommodation, and a fantastic festive program. You will feel right at home in North Devon this Christmas. We have also included visits to Bideford, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Barnstaple.

Day 1

We depart our home area and after making suitable comfort stops, we arrive at our hotel late afternoon. Upon arrival at our hotel enjoy a luxury mince pie served with tea/coffee in the Ashford Suite whilst our luggage is taken to our room. Time to relax before our evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast we visit Barnstaple town centre for last minute Christmas shopping. Look around the delightful independent shops with beautiful Christmas window displays. Visit the historic indoor Pannier Market, with over 70 stalls selling everything from local produce to antiques. Time to purchase lunch in Barnstaple before we return to our hotel where we will indulge in Afternoon Tea in the Brasserie. This evening a local choir sings Christmas carols before dinner as the management team welcomes us with Mulled Wine. After dinner we will enjoy a trip down memory lane playing Victorian games.

Day 3

After breakfast we can make use of the hotel leisure facilities, join a game of festive Bingo or relax in the hotel lounge before we are invited to raise a glass of champagne to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Afterwards enjoy a 4-course traditional Christmas lunch in the Brasserie. This afternoon Christmas cake will be served whilst we listen to the Kings Speech. Time to relax before our hot and cold buffet tonight followed by a festive quiz.

Day 4

After breakfast we head to RHS Rosemoor Gardens. The gardens are fascinating all year round. Wander through the Winter Sculpture Exhibition then head to the café for some delicious food.
Afterwards, we visit Bideford for the Boxing Day Sales. The historic harbour is packed with independent shops, restaurants and picturesque quays. Visit the indoor Pannier Market. Opportunity to purchase afternoon refreshments before returning to our hotel. Tonight, we enjoy a 3 course Gala Dinner followed by our last night for entertainment ‘A Night at the Races’.

Day 5

We say farewell to North Devon and return to home area making suitable comforts stops enroute.
