HOTEL FELSENKELLER, RÜDESHEIM ***
Situated just a 2-minute walk from the banks of the River Rhine in Rüdesheim am Rhein, this hotel boasts a terrace overlooking the historic Old Town. Enjoy regional dishes from the area and the hotel’s wine tavern serves up a selection of local wines. Please note the lift goes to all floors but there are 15 wide steps to get to the lift. The Twin-Bedded Rooms are not with separate beds, they are German doubles with separate mattresses and blankets, but within the same bed frame.

Day 1
Travel to Rudesheim making suitable comfort stops along the way. Arrive at the hotel with time to freshen up before our evening meal.
DDay 2
After breakfast, we travel to nearby Wiesbaden for the town’s impressive market which takes place at the historic Schlossplatz. We return to the hotel with time to relax before our evening meal.
B, DDay 3
We travel along the scenic Rhine, passing many picturesque castles on our way to Koblenz. The Christmas market here is set across several squares in the heart of Koblenz's historic town centre, with the main area located around the Altstadt (Old Town) near the Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. This beautiful setting creates a magical atmosphere for the festivities. The market boasts over 100 wooden stalls, offering everything from artisan crafts, festive decorations, and handmade jewellery to gourmet food and seasonal treats. Tonight, after dinner, join Karen at 'The International' in the lively Drosselgasse for a traditional Rüdesheim Coffee, made with local Asbach brandy. There is sure to be music and laughter here for a night of fun.
B, DDay 4
Today, we enjoy a free day in Rüdesheim. There are many Christmas Markets in Germany, but the pretty historic town of Rüdesheim has a special Christmas Market called the Christmas Market of Nations, or Rüdesheimer Weihnachtsmarkt der Nationen. There are over 120 stalls representing the Christmas traditions from 12 nations. The hotel is very well situated for us to explore everything on offer in Rüdesheim.

Rüdesheim Christmas Market of Nations
Rüdesheim is transformed during the festive season as its historic streets welcome the Christmas Market of Nations. More than 120 stalls bring together Christmas traditions from countries around the world, filling the town with festive decorations, handcrafted gifts, tempting treats and seasonal aromas. With our hotel conveniently situated in the town, enjoy a full day at leisure to discover the market at your own pace. Wander through the famous Drosselgasse, browse for Christmas gifts or settle into a cosy tavern and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the Rhine Valley at Christmas. During our stay, there is also an opportunity to join Karen at The International in Rüdesheim’s lively Drosselgasse for a traditional Rüdesheim Coffee, prepared with locally produced Asbach brandy – accompanied by plenty of music and festive cheer.
Wiesbaden Christmas Market
We travel to elegant Wiesbaden to experience its impressive Christmas market, centred around the historic Schlossplatz. Beautifully illuminated during the festive season, Wiesbaden provides a delightful setting for Christmas shopping and sightseeing. Browse traditional stalls, sample German festive specialities and enjoy time to explore this attractive city before returning to Rüdesheim.
Christmas in Koblenz
Our journey to Koblenz takes us along the picturesque Rhine, passing some of the region’s magnificent castles and beautiful riverside scenery.
Koblenz Christmas Market spreads across several squares within the historic town centre, with more than 100 wooden stalls offering artisan crafts, decorations, jewellery, seasonal food and Christmas treats. Its setting close to the Deutsches Eck – where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet – makes Koblenz an especially memorable destination during the festive season.
