Chester & Chirk Castle at Christmastime

If you are looking for the perfect getaway to get into the Christmas spirit this festive season, then treat yourself to a wonderful holiday that combines the best of Christmas shopping, historic charm, and festive cheer and join us as we visit the Chester Christmas Market—one of the most delightful Christmas markets in the UK—and step back in time at the magnificent Chirk Castle, beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Day 1

Depart home area and after a suitable comfort break, we head for the beautiful cathedral city of Lichfield. There are many unique shops to browse and eateries to obtain lunch. We then continue to our hotel in Chester with time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Day 2

This morning we head to nearby Chirk Castle, a stunning National Trust property set in acres of gardens and parkland. Step into a world of enchantment at this magnificent medieval castle which is beautifully decorated for the festive season. Picture grand halls adorned with festive wreaths, glistening Christmas trees, and classic decorations - it's a sight to behold. Opportunity to purchase refreshments before we head back to Chester where the Christmas Market transforms the city centre into a sparkling winter wonderland. Wander through the beautifully decorated market stalls, set against the backdrop of Chester's medieval architecture and cobblestone streets. As we wander through the market, take time to explore the beautiful city of Chester, famous for its Roman walls, historic town centre, and Victorian rows-ideal for a leisurely stroll or a cozy break in one of Chester's quaint cafes.

Day 3

We depart our hotel and head for Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market, one of the largest and most popular in the UK, located in the city centre, this traditional German-style market features over 80 stalls selling handmade gifts, festive decorations, local crafts, and plenty of seasonal treats. The scent of mulled wine, bratwurst, and roasted chestnuts fills the air, making it a perfect place to stop for an extended lunch stop. Return to home area afterwards, making a suitable comfort stop enroute.
