Cheshire Spring Break

Join us on this Spring holiday to Cheshire, a fabulous time to get out and about. Our hotel is set in the glorious Cheshire countryside with pretty views, fantastic food and comfortable rooms. If you need to chase the blues away, this hotel has got what you need. We will visit Chester where we will be entertained by a local guide, visit the award-winning Hardwick Hall featured in many well-known films. Also enjoy a scenic tour of the Peak District National Park

Day1

We depart the home area, stopping in Lichfield for lunch. This charming cathedral city offers unique shops and eateries to explore. We continue to our hotel with time to freshen up before our evening
meal.

Day 2

After breakfast, we visit Bakewell, known as 'Lambton' in Pride and Prejudice. Discover scenic streets, charming courtyards, and market stalls on market day. In the afternoon, we visit Hardwick
Hall, an architectural marvel from the Elizabethan era, renowned for its tapestries and furniture collections. Discover the intriguing life stories of the house’s servants. Refreshments can be purchased in the on-site café before we return to our hotel.

Day 3

Today, we explore Chester with a 1-hour guided coach tour led by local guide Tom Jones (though he can’t sing!). The rest of the day is free to explore Chester’s shops, historic city walls, or its Roman sites. We return to the hotel for an afternoon cream tea, followed by dinner and an evening of entertainment.

Day 4

Enjoy a scenic tour through the Peak District National Park, taking in Snake Pass, Ladybower Reservoir, Castleton, Eyam (the 'plague village'), and the spa town of Buxton with its stunning
Georgian architecture. After a relaxing day, we return for our final evening meal and entertainment.

Day 5

We return home, stopping in Stamford for lunch. This town’s beautiful Grade II listed buildings have featured in many period dramas, including Pride & Prejudice.

HOLLIN HOUSE HOTEL, MACCLESFIELD ***

This Gothic-style Victorian mansion house is situated on the edge of the glorious Peak District and is an absolute gem. It is a perfect country retreat overlooking landscaped gardens and fields, the hotel is full of character and ambience and offers a friendly welcome making you feel at home right away. The intimate restaurant and bar lounge offers glorious views over the Cheshire countryside. Please Note: This hotel does not have rooms with walk-in showers.
