Autumn Tints of the Rhine

Day 1

Depart home area and make our way to Folkestone for our Eurotunnel crossing to Coquelles, France. We continue through France, Belgium, and Germany, making suitable refreshment stops,
and arrive at our hotel early evening with time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Day 2

We take a short coach ride to Wiesbaden, capital of the federal state of Hesse, tucked in a lovely valley between the Rhine River and the Taunus Mountains. Afterwards re-join the coach and travel a short distance to the Nerobergbahn. Join us on a train which shuttles to the top of the Neroberg, the only funicular in the world still using water ballast as a propulsion system. We will see some superb views of the Rhine Valley when we reach the top (price not included. Approx. 5 Euros). After dinner this evening, join your Tour Guide to the ‘International’ in the Drosselgasse for a Rüdesheim coffee (made with Asbach brandy!).

Day 3

Spend the day in Rudesheim. In the morning we enjoy an entertaining wine tasting at Adolf Storzel, approx. 3-minute walk from our hotel. We keep the glass afterwards and use it to taste
the local wines around the town. There are plenty of delightful independent shops to visit and the famous ‘Christmas Shop’. Opportunity to take a cable car ride up to ‘Germania’(extra cost).

Day 4

We take a scenic journey along the Rhine, crossing over to Bingen and travel along the beautiful Rhine via Bacharach, Oberwesel and pass the Loreli Rock. We then continue to St. Goar, a tiny town full of unique attractions to surprise us at every turn. Re-join the coach to the charismatic town of Boppard. Take a stroll along the beautiful promenade and visit many of the individual shops and restaurants.

Day 5

We say farewell to Rüdesheim and make our way back to France for our return Eurotunnel crossing, making suitable refreshment stops. Arrive home area early evening.
