Enjoy an all-inclusive break at the Cumbria Grand Hotel, set in private gardens and woodland overlooking Morecambe Bay. Experience sights like no other in this postcard panorama of bold hilltops, historic towns and glittering lakes. Take it all in on a boat ride gliding through the tranquil Lake Windermere.
Day 1
We depart home area and make our way to our hotel making suitable comfort stops along the way. We arrive at our hotel with time to relax before our evening meal.
DDay 2
This morning we visit Cumbria Crystal, the last producer of completely hand-blown and hand-cut, lead, luxury English crystal in the UK, showcased in ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘James Bond’ and many period dramas. We then head into nearby Ulverston, home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum (entry extra). Time to look around the shops and purchase refreshments, a packed lunch is provided today. In the afternoon we travel through the edge of the Lake District and visit the delightful market town of Kendal, renowned mainly as a centre for shopping, historic sights including Kendal castle and as the home of Kendal Mint Cake. The town’s grey limestone buildings have earned it the sobriquet ‘Auld Grey Town’. We return to our hotel for our evening meal.
B, L, DDay 3
Today, after breakfast, we collect our packed lunches from the hotel and enjoy a scenic drive through the Yorkshire Dales National Park and visit the delightful village of Hawes. There are many charming shops and tea rooms to visit here. We then continue through the National Park via Grassington to Skipton, a bustling town with an excellent selection of shops and many interesting pubs and restaurants. Today is market day and the town always has numerous stalls to browse. We return afterwards to our hotel via Kirkby Lonsdale.
B, L, DDay 4
Today, we collect our packed lunch from our hotel and make our way to Bowness on Lake Windermere. Opportunity to take a boat trip on lake Windermere (extra cost). There are many shops
in this town closely connected to Beatrix Potter and at the top of the main street is ‘The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction’ (approx. £10pp entry). An enchanting Lake District attraction where Beatrix Potter’s magical tales of Peter Rabbit and his friends are brought to life in three dimensions. There are many charming shops to visit in Bowness. We then continue via Rydal to Grasmere, where William Wordsworth went to school. His old school is now home to a famous Gingerbread shop where people travel miles to buy. There are many delightful places to obtain lunch or take the opportunity to have our packed lunch here. In the afternoon we visit Keswick, which is surrounded by incredible Lake District scenery including the beautiful lake of Derwentwater. There are many shops here to browse or take the opportunity to visit the Pencil Museum (entry extra). We return to our hotel for our evening meal followed by entertainment.
Day 5
We depart our hotel and make our way to Morecambe for a quick visit. The TV series ‘The Bay’ was filmed here. Opportunity to take a picture with the famous ‘Eric Morecambe’ whose statue was unveiled by the Queen in 1999. We then rejoin the coach and return to home area making suitable comfort stops.

The Hazelwood Restaurant serves traditional cuisine using the finest local ingredients and boasts a fine selection of wines to accompany the menu. The beach is within easy walking distance and Grange-over-Sands Rail Station is 10 minutes walk away. There is a lift to all floors.
