Why on earth are we talking about what you would like to eat?
Whether it is a bowl of cornflakes, toast on the go or a full English, we want you to fuel yourself up properly for an amazing day out. As the saying goes travel on a full stomach - how true is that for you?
In this 4-minute read, we are going to cover one of the most unasked questions but I bet its on your mind!
Ok, so you might think we are bit crazy bringing this question up. We arent going to help with whether it is brown sauce or ketchup in your bacon sandwich. What we do want to answer is one of the things that is always on our mind before setting out!
How long is the journey?
If you are looking at a long day out you are going to spend longer on the coach, obvious right? Well, one of the things we all get when we are sitting around watching the world go by makes us a little peckish.
A bit of science comes into that - Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in our brain that's strongly tied with feelings of reward and pleasure. When/our brains aren't stimulated, and this causes our dopamine levels to drop. This triggers us to take an action that will bring it back up, such as eating.
You are likely to have comfort stops but think about what is there and whether you can have a McMuffin for breakfast whilst travelling or prefer something a bit lighter. Then work backwards from there.
What is the destination?
Lunch is a staple of most peoples day 86% of us Brits make time for it every day. But lunch looks different for all of us, some it is a hot meal, for others it is a sandwich on the go. So, when you have booked your day out look at what is on offer at the destination and what is preferred, if it is something light, you might want to think about a bigger breakfast.
If lunch is included, you may need to plan for that, maybe a snack on the go would help supplement between breakfast and lunch. Or treat yourself when you have an opportunity to stop along the way, no one is going to judge you for croissant in Costa!
