Day 1

Crossing the Channel, we travel through France into the Netherlands, stopping in the charming town of Sluis. Known for its attractive canals, historic windmill, welcoming cafés and excellent shopping, there is free time to explore and enjoy lunch before continuing to our hotel.

Day 2

Experience the spectacular Zundert Flower Parade, one of the world's largest floral events. Marvel at the enormous floats, beautifully decorated with millions of dahlias, as they parade through the streets accompanied by colourful marching bands, performers and a lively market.

After breakfast, we visit the historic town of Bergen op Zoom, with time for shopping, sightseeing and lunch before beginning our journey home.

Zundert Flower Parade & Historic Holland

Join Kirbys for a colourful weekend break to experience the spectacular Zundert Flower Parade, the largest flower parade in the world. Every year, this remarkable Dutch festival attracts thousands of visitors who come to admire the enormous floral floats, each handcrafted and covered with millions of vibrant dahlias.

Travelling through France into the Netherlands, our first stop is the picturesque town of Sluis. Surrounded by historic fortifications, canals and charming streets, Sluis is the perfect place to enjoy lunch, browse the independent shops or simply relax in one of the many welcoming cafés before continuing to Breda.

The highlight of your holiday is undoubtedly the Zundert Flower Parade. Included grandstand seating provides an excellent view as spectacular floral floats make their way through the streets, accompanied by marching bands, entertainers and a wonderful festival atmosphere. Created by local volunteers using millions of colourful dahlias, the impressive displays are unlike anything else in Europe.

Before returning home, we visit the historic town of Bergen op Zoom, one of the oldest towns in the Netherlands. Discover attractive squares, historic buildings, boutique shops and inviting cafés before beginning our journey back to the UK.

This enjoyable short break combines one of Europe's most spectacular floral events with charming Dutch towns, making it the perfect choice for anyone who enjoys gardens, festivals, culture and relaxed sightseeing.
