Day 1

Travel north to Dumfries, just across the Scottish border, where we settle into our overnight hotel.

Day 2

Continue deeper into Scotland’s scenic heart, visiting Blair Athol Distillery for a guided tour, before arriving at the Highlander Hotel.

Head west to Kyle of Lochalsh, taking in dramatic Highland scenery and coastal views toward the Isle of Skye. Board a scenic train to Inverness, enjoying one of Scotland’s most picturesque rail journeys, before returning by coach.

Day 4

Travel on the Jacobite Steam Railway from Fort William to Mallaig, crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct and passing serene lochs and coastal vistas. Explore the charming fishing port of Mallaig.

Visit Aviemore and ride the Strathspey Steam Railway through the Cairngorms before returning to Dumfries.

Travelling north through the beautiful Scottish Borders, enjoy overnight stays in Dumfries before continuing into the heart of the Highlands to the welcoming Highlander Hotel.

 

A highlight of the holiday is the visit to Blair Athol Distillery, one of Scotland’s oldest working whisky distilleries. Discover the traditional whisky-making process during a guided tour whilst surrounded by beautiful Highland scenery.

 

Travel west through dramatic Highland landscapes towards Kyle of Lochalsh, gateway to the Isle of Skye. From here, board one of Scotland’s most scenic rail journeys to Inverness, travelling past rugged mountains, sea lochs and remote Highland scenery.

 

Another unforgettable experience awaits aboard the world-famous Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William to Mallaig. Often described as one of the greatest railway journeys in the world, this spectacular steam train route crosses the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, famously featured in the Harry Potter films, whilst passing tranquil lochs, mountains and dramatic coastal scenery.

 

Enjoy free time in the picturesque fishing port of Mallaig before returning through the stunning Highland landscapes.

 

The holiday also includes a nostalgic journey aboard the Strathspey Railway through the magnificent Cairngorms National Park from the popular Highland resort of Aviemore. Relax and admire beautiful forests, rivers and mountain scenery aboard this traditional heritage railway.
