Delightful Dawlish

Day 1

We travel to Salisbury, known as ‘the city in the countryside’ to obtain lunch from one of the many cafes or restaurants. We continue to our hotel and are welcomed with a cup of tea/coffee whilst our luggage is taken to our bedroom. Before our evening meal, wander into the gardens and enjoy a drink from the terrace overlooking the sea.

Day 2

After breakfast we visit the pretty town of Sidmouth, a town like no other, it’s known as the gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Time at leisure to explore the seafront or many shops and time to obtain lunch. We then continue to the Donkey Sanctuary where we can meet and interact with the donkeys and learn about their care and history of the sanctuary

Day 3

Enjoy a free morning in Dawlish, a delightful regency coastal town. See the famous black swans on the lake in ‘The Lawn’. This afternoon we travel a short distance to Teignmouth, a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches and fresh local food.

Day 4

Enjoy a scenic tour across the Dartmoor National Park, known for its rugged and wild landscapes, with granite tors, rolling hills and vast open moorland. You may spot the semi wild ponies. We visit Widecombe in the Moor, known for its charming stone cottages, historic church, and stunning countryside which offering a glimpse into traditional Dartmoor life. Afterwards, to Buckfast Abbey, situated on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, home to a community of Benedictine Monks and known for its serene surroundings, historical significance, and cultural contributions, the only place where you will see notices saying ‘Please walk on the grass!’.

Day 5

Return to home area making suitable comfort stops on route.
