One of the best and least strenuous ways to get to know Cambridge is to take an open air top bus tour with commentary (extra cost). Shopping in Cambridge includes the oldest book shop site in the country, the best known high street stores and of course the market. Cambridge also has a wide range of restaurants and cafés.

Espresso Library for coffee - 210 East Road, CB1 1BG

Espresso Library opened on 9th February 2015. The Espresso Library concept brought together the interests of its founders: a road cyclist and time trialist, mathematician, chess enthusiast and coffee lover, combined with a passion for art history and a love for simple, nutritious food.

 

Kettles Yard

The University of Cambridge's modern and contemporary art gallery. Kettle's Yard is a beautiful house with a remarkable collection of modern art and a gallery that hosts modern and contemporary art exhibitions. (Entry into some exhibitions may cost - see their website for further details).

 

The Fitzwilliam Museum

The Fitzwilliam Museum is the lead partner of the spectacular collections of the University of Cambridge Museums (UCM) and Botanic Garden.

From antiquity to the present day, the Fitzwilliam houses a world-renowned collection of over half a million beautiful works of art, masterpiece paintings and historical artefacts. (booking is required for their exhibitions, please visit their website for further details).
