Blenheim Palace at Christmas

Discover the magic of Christmas at Blenheim Palace. See the State Rooms seasonally decorated; walk the spectacular illuminated trail through festive gardens; escape the high street bustle and soak up the festive atmosphere, at the Christmas market all set against the magnificent backdrop of the Palace.

Day 1

Depart home area and travel to Oxford, a bustling cosmopolitan town, for lunch to be purchased. Perhaps do a little bit of Christmas shopping here before continuing to our hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast we spend some time at leisure in Stratford-upon-Avon, known as the birth place of Shakespeare. This medieval market town offers us an array of shops, cafes and restaurants. Afterwards, we travel to Blenheim Palace. The State Rooms are seasonally decorated andlavishly themed. We have plenty of time to explore the Palace &grounds with time to purchase lunch. Later, head to The Formal Gardens for the Light Trail which is booked for 5pm. This picture perfect Estate will be illuminated for an unforgettable after-dark festive trail along winding paths, beside tranquil waters and through extraordinary Parkland landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown. Sip a spiced cider, mulled wine, or hot chocolate whilst the aroma of roasting chestnuts fills the air. Soak up the atmosphere at the Christmas Market in the Great Court. Within wooden chalets, the market will be filled with a variety of hand-picked irresistible gifts, unique works and tempting treats. After this magical Christmas event, travel to the hotel where we sit down to dinner approx. 8pm.

Day 3

After breakfast we check out of our hotel and travel to Morton in Marsh in the Cotswold’s. The high street has many elegant eighteenth-century inns and houses. Time to purchase lunch here before returning to home area.

This stunning hotel sits in 65 acres of stunning English countryside. The hotel has a bar, lounge area and restaurant. There is a roof terrace overlooking the Victorian garden. The hotel has a splendid leisure complex including an indoor swimming pool. Please Note there is no lift, but ground floor rooms are available (subject to availability).
