The city of Bath was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It was recognised for its outstanding architectural and historical significance, particularly its well-preserved Roman and Georgian buildings. The Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge are some of the iconic examples of the Georgian architecture in the city.

Bath holds a special place in the literary world as it was the setting for two of Jane Austen’s novels, ‘Northanger Abbey’ and ‘Persuasion’. Austen herself lived in Bath for a time.

Visit The Great Bath, a centrepiece of the Roman Baths complex. It is a large rectangular pool filled with hot mineral rich water from the natural springs. You can explore the surrounding museum to learn about its history.

There are plenty of shops to visit and many eateries in Bath.

Day 1

We depart home area and make our way to Bath stopping in the picturesque town of Marlborough for lunch to be obtained. We arrive at our hotel mid-afternoon. Rest of the afternoon/evening is at leisure.

Day 2

After breakfast, the day is ours to explore Bath. Visit the Roman Baths, climb Bath Abbey's Tower, visit the Jane Austen Centre, or browse the array of shops. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to purchase lunch and dinner.

Day 3

We check out of our hotel and have the morning to continue exploring the city. We depart mid-afternoon to return home.
