COACH HOLIDAY ITINERARY

DAY 1 Travel to our Hotel situated in Morecambe making suitable refreshment stops along the way.

DAY 2 After breakfast enjoy a free morning in Morecambe. Take the opportunity to visit the Eric Morecambe statue, browse around the shops or visit the market today.  Early afternoon board the coach and travel a short distance to Carnforth Station where you step back in time. The station was made famous when it was used as the location for the 1945 film Brief Encounter. Opportunity to visit the museum, watch the film and purchase a cup of tea/coffee in the tea room before returning to the hotel. We have an early meal before departing for the Blackpool Illuminations. Enjoy a drive along the 10 kilometre promenade viewing the Illuminations of over one million bulbs. The Blackpool Lights are an awesome spectacle!

DAY 3 After breakfast we travel to Skipton, 'the Gateway to the magnificent Yorkshire Dales'. This charming market town has a famous 900 year old castle, romantic ruined priory and a historic cobbled High Street full of unique independent shops. Afterwards we travel across the Yorkshire Dales to visit the beautiful market town of Hawes, situated 850 feet above sea water making this England's highest thriving market town. It is also home to Wensleydale Cheese. Afterwards we return to hotel via a stunning scenic route.

DAY 4 After breakfast visit the magnificent Lake District. We make our way to Bowness-on-Windermere, a delightful town. There are many little boutique shops to browse and many restaurants/cafes to purchase a drink. We can even enjoy a boat trip on Lake Windermere (price not included approx. £8pp). We then rejoin the coach and travel via Ambleside and Rydal to stop in Grasmere (William Wordsworth country) and here we have the opportunity to visit the famous Ginger Bread shop, which used to be the school William Wordsworth attended with his sister. We continue to Keswick, our last stop for the day, located in the Lake District National Park and surrounded by the Skiddaw Mountains. Keswick has many museums and art galleries to visit aswell as the lovely shops and restaurants. We return to our hotel via the Kirkstone Pass which has an altitude of 1,489 feet and is the Lake District's highest pass.

DAY 5 After breakfast we say farewell to the Auckland Hotel and travel home-ward bound visiting Boundary Mills for lunch to be purchased as well as some last-minute shopping.
