Travelling through the picturesque vineyards and rolling countryside of Burgundy, your journey continues south to the charming seaside resort of Alassio on Italy’s beautiful Ligurian Coast. Known for its golden beaches, elegant promenade and relaxed atmosphere, Alassio is the perfect base for exploring the Riviera.

Enjoy a scenic excursion to Ventimiglia, famous for its lively Friday Market, attracting visitors from across the Riviera with stalls selling leather goods, clothing, local produce and Italian specialities. Continue inland to the enchanting medieval village of Dolceacqua, one of the prettiest villages in Liguria. Wander its narrow cobbled lanes, browse art galleries and admire the famous 15th-century stone bridge painted by Monet.

A full day at leisure in Alassio allows time to enjoy the resort’s beautiful beaches, cafés and shops. Explore the famous Budello, one of Europe’s longest open-air shopping streets, lined with boutiques, cafés and gelaterias, or visit the colourful Muretto di Alassio featuring ceramic tiles signed by celebrities from around the world.

The holiday also includes a visit to the historic port city of Genoa, birthplace of Christopher Columbus and home to one of Europe’s largest medieval old towns. Explore grand palaces, lively piazzas and the bustling Porto Antico waterfront, now beautifully regenerated with cafés, museums and shops.
