Herne Bay, a seaside town in Kent, is situated on the south coast of the Thames Estuary. Its seafront is home to the worlds first freestanding purpose-built clock tower. The town also has the 2nd longest pier in the UK. You will have some free time here to purchase lunch before continuing to Whitstable. Whitstable is known as the Pearl of Kent and is famous for its oysters. The town itself dates back to before the writing of the Domesday Book and has distinctive character.
