COACH HOLIDAY ITINERARY
DAY 1 During the outward journey, stop in Wetherby for lunch to be purchased. We arrive at the hotel with a cup of tea/coffee on arrival allowing for time to freshen up before our evening meal.
DAY 2 After breakfast we visit Harewood House, a place filled with art, culture and heritage. One of the Treasure Houses of England, the historic Georgian property sits within Lancelot “Capability” Brown designed landscape with remarkable views from the award-winning Terraces. Go inside and be blown away by rare Chippendale furniture and jaw-dropping interior designs on the State Rooms. There are over 100 acres of gardens which are full of variety, with plants from all over the world. Refreshment facilities are available. We have the day to explore the house and gardens before returning to the hotel for our evening meal.
DAY 3 Today we have a day at leisure in Harrogate, one of Yorkshire’s most elegant places to visit. The hotel is an 8-minute walk, past cafes, tea rooms and shops, to the famous Betty’s Tea Room.
DAY 4 After breakfast visit Ripon. This unspoilt cathedral city is a North Yorkshire gem boasting an imposing cathedral, fascinating museums and lots of shops. Afterwards we continue to Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden, nestled deep in the Skell Valley. For centuries people have been drawn to this inspiring place. From humble beginnings the magnificent abbey was established by devout monks seeking a simpler existence. The atmospheric ruins that remain are a window into a way of life which shaped the medieval world. Wander through the 900-year-old abbey and Georgian water gardens at this World Heritage Site. With 800 acres to explore, an Elizabethan hall, Cistercian mill and medieval deer park there’s a lot to do.
DAY 5 After breakfast we head for home area making suitable comfort stops along the way, including a stop in Stamford for lunch to be purchased.

THE OLD SWAN HOTEL, HARROGATE ****
The Old Swan Hotel is one of the most famous hotels in Harrogate, with a history going back nearly 200 years. Just a short walk from the town centre. From its revolving doors to its famous glass-ceilinged Wedgwood Restaurant, the Hotel exudes romance and mystery. It was to this tranquil haven that the mistress of crime-writing, Agatha Christie, famously disappeared in 1926, resulting in a public furore over the 11 days that she could not be traced.
